What is Izakaya
Izakaya refers to traditional Japanese tavern, a restaurant that serves food and alcohol. The act of drinking in Izakaya was called “Izak” for short, which have the meaning of “stop and have a drink on the alcohol”, which is the origin of the name “Izakaya”. Izakaya was originated in the Edo period, where it was believed that it was originally a brewhouse that serves only the noble. Later, snacks had been provided in store so that the customers could drink the alcohol immediately on spot.
Our History
JK Izakaya is founded in 2018 by Mr. Lai Jun Khai, a 35 years old middle age man who decided to leave the office work due to personality incompatible to repeat the same daily working routine facing the paperwork. Therefore, the founder has decided to quit from the office life which is full of boredom for him, to start with new chapter of life to run Izakaya business, where the nature of business allows the founder to meet different people every day. Also, with the past experience in the office works, the founder is able to have small conversation with different customer, where the customers usually either complaining about the workplace problem, or sometime having celebration after working for whole day.
